CS4IL is thrilled to announce its inaugural series of events and tournaments, set to commence in the Fall of 2024. This groundbreaking initiative aims to celebrate and elevate computer science and STEM disciplines by bringing together the brightest young minds from schools across the region. Sponsored by Kira Learning and CS4IL, a leading statewide advocacy non-profit, this challenge will offer a platform for students to showcase their talents, engage in friendly competition, and foster a community of innovation and learning.
The challenge begins on Monday, December 9th, during the start of Computer Science Education Week (“Hour of Code”). Teams must submit their entry by Sunday, December 15th. A judging panel will review the submissions and select up to three winners. Prizes will be awarded to the teacher or administrative sponsor for each school.
Schools in Illinois may enter the CS Ed Week challenge, sponsored by CS4IL and Kira Learning. During the week of December 9th, student teams may craft and submit a world built in Minecraft EDU based on a coding prompt. Kira Learning will make their award-winning tools available that week for participating schools to use for the challenge.
